Copyright on teaching material

As a student, researcher or lecturer, you have to deal with copyright. In 2019, checks will me be made on the use of copyright-protected material.

Als student, onderzoeker of docent heeft u te maken met het auteursrecht. In 2019 zal er worden gecontroleerd op het gebruik van auteursrechtelijk besachermd materiaal.

Is copyright regulated automatically with teaching material? You cannot simply use other people’s work without permission. In some cases, this has been regulated by the UU, in other cases you will have to take action yourself. More information and regulations can be found at the UU Copyright Information Office. Is het auteursrecht van onderwijsmateriaal automatisch geregeld? Werk van anderen mag u niet zomaar gebruiken. Hiervoor is altijd vooraf toestemming nodig van de maker van het werk. In een aantal gevallen is dit in algemene zin geregeld door de UU, in andere gevallen moet u zelf nog actie ondernemen. How are checks made on the use of copyright-protecteded material? The Dutch organization Stichting Pro is responsible for collectively administering copyright. In 2019, UU is obliged to give full access to teaching material to Stichting Pro. More information will be given on UU intranet pages (in Dutch).

Hoe wordt er gecontroleerd op het gebruik van auteursrechtelijk beschermd materiaal? In Nederland is Stichting Pro verantwoordelijk voor de collectieve exploitatie van auteursrechten. De UU is in 2019 verplicht om Stichting Pro volledig inzage te geven in het onderwijsmateriaal. Meer informatie wordt gegeven via het UU-intranet
